hi, i'm tess. i'm in my late 30s and have been making little virtual hovels for myself since i was a teenager. like most people here on neocities, i grew tired of the commodification of the internet and found myself wondering where all the personal sites went where i could read people's diaries and look at their art without being asked to subscribe to anything or donate the currency of my attention. i was remembering the internet the way it used to be. i remember it as blue. they took our digital stream of consciousness away from us. i remember hypertext and webrings and domains called things like sumptuous.net and dream-thing.nu. i remember shrines and guest books and greymatter, shame and artbook scans, limewire and livejournal.
there's only a blog here at the moment, but i have plans to add:
- my microfiction
- my incredibly rusty art
- fuck it, maybe my novel-in-progress too
- an archive of personal domains from the early 2000s
- archive of media i own + my thoughts about it so i can be a more mindful art appreciator
